FAU Competence Center Scientific Computing
Welcome to the FAU Competence Center Scientific Computing (FAU CSC) of the Friedrich-Alexander University (FAU) Erlangen-Nuremberg!
The FAU CSC is the university’s competence center for scientific computing. Originally established within the Cluster of Excellence Engineering of Advanced Materials (EAM), it brings together the expertise and experience of several FAU institutions. In doing so, FAU CSC provides a unique interdisciplinary platform that enables collaboration and supports even the most complex research activities in the fields of numerical simulation and scientific computing.
FAU’s Competence Centers serve a cross-sectional role: they offer specialized knowledge, support, and methodological development across the full spectrum of research conducted at the university—from basic science to advanced instrumentation. They are permanently established and undergo evaluation every seven years.
An overview of all FAU profile, research and competence centers can be found on the FAU Research profile website.
